SINGAPORE: A 21-year-old man is being investigated by the police for causing public alarm at Bugis MRT station. In a news release on Tuesday (Mar 22), police said that on Mar 15, they were informed of the man allegedly seen carrying an object resembling a rifle at the station at about 1pm. The news release said "extensive police resources" were mobilised to identify the man, who was arrested in his Toa Payoh home on the same day. "Preliminary investigations revealed the object was a toy gun which the subject had bought online," said police. - CNA/hs
